ShoutBloger: Whether related towith case against Geohotz or not, Sony forced to close PlayStation Network. Why? There are 'external threats'.

Through its official blog, Sony announced the PlayStation Network is still closing. Online services for users of the PlayStation 3 is disrupted since 20 April 2011.

As quoted from the official PlayStation blog on Sunday April 24, 2011 the closure was caused by 'external threats'.

An intrusion from outside of our system has affected the PlayStation Network (PSN) and Qriocity, writes Patrick Siebold, Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media, Sony Entertainment, United States.

For the sake of doing a thorough investigation, Siebold said, PlayStation Network (PSN) and Qriocity been turned off. He claimed not to know when service will be alive again.

Our efforts to overcome this problem including rebuild our system to be more powerful. Although it spends a lot of time, we decided that this needs to be done for the sake of security, he wrote.

PlayStation Network (PSN) closure occurred shortly after Sony settle its legal case with Georgo Hotz aka Geohotz. When the case was crowded, the group called Anonymous had launched an offensive to Sony.
